Project Overview

This project updated a compact cabin kitchen without stripping away its personality. The work focused on preserving the warmth of the timber shell while bringing in cleaner cabinetry, more usable prep space, and a stronger visual rhythm through the finished palette.

Why This Project Works

Design Priorities

The goal was to modernize function without flattening the rustic character of the home. The checkerboard floor, soft green cabinetry, and warm wood backdrop were balanced to make the room feel both playful and grounded.

Execution Notes

The success of the room depends on contrast and fit. Cabinet lines, countertop edges, appliance placement, and the long sink run all needed to feel crisp against the existing timber envelope so the renovation looked resolved rather than patched in.
